Day 1 - Mixed Bag

Day 1 - For my first full day focusing on my commitment to avoid sweets, I found that it would not have been an ideal day for me to pick willingly and start of sweets fast. The day did start off positively.  I had my water, which I started drinking before coming to work.  When I arrived at the job, I was sadly reminded that I had a full day in meetings and special events.

Before arriving at the office, I ate two pieces of fruit and two servings of water (16 oz per serving).  From the point that I arrived at the office, I was constantly moving from room to computer, from staff meetings to panel discussions.  In the meantime, I had two more pieces of fruit while preparing for a day of meetings.  I kept working on drinking two more servings of water through the remainder of my day at work.  As I took a long last breathe at the day's end, I sat in my car ready to escort my son to basketball practice at the YMCA.

After basketball, I noticed that I was not tired, no headache.  I prepared for a dinner of pizza with whole grain crust, turkey meat, helped kids with homework, practiced Spanish on the computer, broke up about five arguments between kids, and relaxed a bit watching Modern Family .  Nothing too crazy.

At the end of the day, I sit hear watching Transformers 3 and noticed that I did not have any real cravings for sweets. Although I was offered sweets throughout the day, I did not feel compelled to receive the sweet offer.  As Ice Cube says, "Today was a good day."
