Day 3 - Uneventful

I guess I should want everyday to be plain and uneventful.  I can say that I maintained my goal, drank my water, and ate relatively healthy food.  To reward myself, I went out with a friend to listen to a cover band downtown.

Although I did pretty well, I made the mistake of not eating through the day.  I did become concerned because I knew from past experience that absence of food makes the sweet grow fond.

I continued drinking my water throughout the day, had meetings that keep me distracted and focused on other activities.  When mid-afternoon hit, I did find myself going to old thinking and habits of going to the company store and finding sweets to eat.  In the past, I generally justified it as a "need" to have a quick snack that was harmless.

To help avoid sweets, I foresaw into the future what happens in those kinds of scenarios where I continue to eat through the evening with a series of other sweets and comfort foods.  I found myself sticking with the water because I could not find anything that I really wanted.  There were nuts and some fruit available, but I was again distracted by getting my car from the dealership for repairs.  When I returned to work, I checked in with some colleagues, continued some projects, and finished the day without dwelling on my hunger.

In the evening, I had plans to go out with a friend.  With the heavy rain predicted and already starting, plenty of folks decided to stay away for the evening.  Our small posse of two literally weathered the storm and danced to disco, hip hop and all the fixings of a better than average cover band.

After driving my friend home and avoiding being hit by of drunk fool at an intersection known for many accidents, I went home and fell straight to sleep.

As I rose this morning making breakfast, I had the piece of mind that another day passed successfully.
