My Way of Honoring Black HIstory Month

Black History Month Observance: I've been looking for something different, maybe a bit more personal, to celebrate, honor, and remember those who've fought, often times died, for the rights of Americans, particularly African Americans throughout our nation's history and before.  For many religious and cultural observances, different people across the globe give up something to help reflect on and remember those who sacrificed for us to have what we have today. So, in recognition of Black History Month during February, I will be giving up sweets.   Sweets for me is a big deal.  I invite others who want to share and do something similar.  I've decided to blog each day about my process along with any other tidbits during February.  Every day is Black history.  I also want to highlight my family, culture, people, values, and community through this activity.
